MOV : അനന്തരം എലീശാ താൻ മകനെ ജീവിപ്പിച്ചുകൊടുത്തിരുന്ന സ്ത്രീയോടു: നീയും നിന്റെ ഭവനവും പുറപ്പെട്ടു എവിടെയെങ്കിലും പരദേശവാസം ചെയ്തുകൊൾവിൻ; യഹോവ ഒരു ക്ഷാമം വരുത്തുവാൻ പോകുന്നു; അതു ഏഴു സംവത്സരം ദേശത്തു ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
KJV : Then spake Elisha unto the woman, whose son he had restored to life, saying, Arise, and go thou and thine household, and sojourn wheresoever thou canst sojourn: for the LORD hath called for a famine; and it shall also come upon the land seven years.
YLT : And Elisha spake unto the woman whose son he had revived, saying, `Rise and go, thou and thy household, and sojourn where thou dost sojourn, for Jehovah hath called for a famine, and also, it is coming unto the land seven years.`

ERVEN : Elisha talked to the woman whose son he had brought back to life. He said, "You and your family should move to another country, because the Lord has decided that there will be a famine here. It will last for seven years."

MOV : മരിച്ചുപോയവനെ ജീവിപ്പിച്ച വിവരം അവൻ രാജാവിനെ കേൾപ്പിക്കുമ്പോൾ തന്നേ അവൻ മകനെ ജീവിപ്പിച്ചുകൊടുത്തിരുന്ന സ്ത്രീ വന്നു തന്റെ വീടും നിലവും സംബന്ധിച്ചു രാജാവിനോടു സങ്കടം ബോധിപ്പിച്ചു. അപ്പോൾ ഗേഹസി: യജമാനനായ രാജാവേ, ഇവൾ തന്നേ ആ സ്ത്രീ; എലീശാ ജീവിപ്പിച്ചുകൊടുത്ത മകൻ ഇവൻ തന്നേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
KJV : And it came to pass, as he was telling the king how he had restored a dead body to life, that, behold, the woman, whose son he had restored to life, cried to the king for her house and for her land. And Gehazi said, My lord, O king, this [is] the woman, and this [is] her son, whom Elisha restored to life.
YLT : And it cometh to pass, he is recounting to the king how he had revived the dead, and lo, the woman whose son he had revived is crying unto the king, for her house and for her field, and Gehazi saith, `My lord, O king, this [is] the woman, and this her son, whom Elisha revived.`

ERVEN : Gehazi was telling the king about Elisha bringing a dead person back to life. At that same time the woman whose son Elisha brought back to life went to the king. She wanted to ask him to help her get back her house and land. Gehazi said, "My lord and king, this is the woman, and this is the son who Elisha brought back to life."

MOV : രാജാവു സ്ത്രീയോടു ചോദിച്ചപ്പോൾ അവളും അതു വിവരിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു രാജാവു ഒരു ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥനെ നിയമിച്ചു: അവൾക്കുണ്ടായിരുന്നതൊക്കെയും അവൾ ദേശം വിട്ടുപോയ നാൾമുതൽ ഇതുവരെയുള്ള നിലത്തിന്റെ ആദായവും അവൾക്കു കൊടുപ്പിക്കേണം എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.
KJV : And when the king asked the woman, she told him. So the king appointed unto her a certain officer, saying, Restore all that [was] hers, and all the fruits of the field since the day that she left the land, even until now.
YLT : And the king asketh at the woman, and she recounteth to him, and the king appointeth to her a certain eunuch, saying, `Give back all that she hath, and all the increase of the field from the day of her leaving the land even till now.`

MOV : അനന്തരം എലീശാ ദമ്മേശെക്കിൽ ചെന്നു; അന്നു അരാംരാജാവായ ബെൻ-ഹദദ് ദീനംപിടിച്ചു കിടക്കുകയായിരുന്നു; ദൈവപുരുഷൻ വന്നിട്ടുണ്ടു എന്നു അവന്നു അറിവു കിട്ടി.
KJV : And Elisha came to Damascus; and Ben-hadad the king of Syria was sick; and it was told him, saying, The man of God is come hither.
YLT : And Elisha cometh in to Damascus, and Ben-Hadad king of Aram is sick, and it is declared to him, saying, `The man of God hath come hither.`

MOV : രാജാവു ഹസായേലിനോടു: ഒരു സമ്മാനം എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടു ദൈവപുരുഷനെ ചെന്നുകണ്ടു: ഈ ദീനം മാറി എനിക്കു സൌഖ്യം വരുമോ എന്നു അവൻ മുഖാന്തരം യഹോവയോടു ചോദിക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
KJV : And the king said unto Hazael, Take a present in thine hand, and go, meet the man of God, and enquire of the LORD by him, saying, Shall I recover of this disease?
YLT : And the king saith unto Hazael, `Take in thy hand a present, and go to meet the man of God, and thou hast sought Jehovah by him, saying, Do I revive from this sickness?`
RV : And the king said unto Hazael, Take a present in thine hand, and go meet the man of God, and inquire of the LORD by him, saying, Shall I recover of this sickness?
RSV : the king said to Hazael, "Take a present with you and go to meet the man of God, and inquire of the LORD through him, saying, `Shall I recover from this sickness?'"

ERVEN : Then the King Ben-Hadad said to Hazael, "Take a gift and go meet the man of God. Ask him to ask the Lord if I will get well from my sickness."

MOV : അങ്ങനെ ഹസായേൽ ദമ്മേശെക്കിലെ വിശേഷവസ്തുക്കളിൽനിന്നൊക്കെയും എടുത്തു നാല്പതു ഒട്ടകച്ചുമടുമായി അവനെ ചെന്നുകണ്ടു അവന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ നിന്നു: നിന്റെ മകൻ അരാം രാജാവായ ബെൻ-ഹദദ് എന്നെ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ചു: ഈ ദീനം മാറി എനിക്കു സൌഖ്യം വരുമോ എന്നു ചോദിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അതിന്നു എലീശാ;
KJV : So Hazael went to meet him, and took a present with him, even of every good thing of Damascus, forty camels’ burden, and came and stood before him, and said, Thy son Ben-hadad king of Syria hath sent me to thee, saying, Shall I recover of this disease?
YLT : And Hazael goeth to meet him, and taketh a present in his hand, even of every good thing of Damascus, a burden of forty camels, and he cometh in and standeth before him, and saith, `Thy son Ben-Hadad, king of Aram, hath sent me unto thee, saying, Do I revive from this sickness?`

ASV : So Hazael went to meet him, and took a present with him, even of every good thing of Damascus, forty camels burden, and came and stood before him, and said, Thy son Benhadad king of Syria hath sent me to thee, saying, Shall I recover of this sickness?
ESV : So Hazael went to meet him, and took a present with him, all kinds of goods of Damascus, forty camel loads. When he came and stood before him, he said, "Your son Ben-hadad king of Syria has sent me to you, saying, 'Shall I recover from this sickness?'"
ERVEN : So Hazael went to meet Elisha. Hazael brought a gift with him. He brought all kinds of good things from Damascus. It took 40 camels to carry everything. Hazael came to Elisha and said, "Your follower, King Ben-Hadad of Aram sent me to you. He asks if he will get well from his sickness."

MOV : നീ ചെന്നു അവനോടു: നിനക്കു നിശ്ചയമായിട്ടു സൌഖ്യം വരും എന്നു പറക; എന്നാൽ അവൻ നിശ്ചയമായി മരിച്ചുപോകുമെന്നു യഹോവ എനിക്കു വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിത്തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
KJV : And Elisha said unto him, Go, say unto him, Thou mayest certainly recover: howbeit the LORD hath shewed me that he shall surely die.
YLT : And Elisha saith unto him, `Go, say, Thou dost certainly not revive, seeing Jehovah hath shewed me that he doth surely die.`

ERVEN : Then Elisha said to Hazael, "Go and tell Ben-Hadad, 'You will live.' But really the Lord told me, 'He will die.'"

KJV : And he settled his countenance stedfastly, until he was ashamed: and the man of God wept.
YLT : And he setteth his face, yea, he setteth [it] till he is ashamed, and the man of God weepeth.

ERVEN : Elisha began to stare. He stared for an embarrassingly long time. Then the man of God began to cry.

MOV : യജമാനൻ കരയുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ഹസായേൽ ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു അവൻ: നീ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളോടു ചെയ്‍വാനിരിക്കുന്ന ദോഷം ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു തന്നേ; നീ അവരുടെ ദുർഗ്ഗങ്ങളെ തീയിട്ടു ചുടുകയും അവരുടെ യൌവനക്കാരെ വാൾകൊണ്ടു കൊല്ലുകയും അവരുടെ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെ അടിച്ചു തകർക്കയും അവരുടെ ഗർഭിണികളെ പിളർക്കയും ചെയ്യും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
KJV : And Hazael said, Why weepeth my lord? And he answered, Because I know the evil that thou wilt do unto the children of Israel: their strong holds wilt thou set on fire, and their young men wilt thou slay with the sword, and wilt dash their children, and rip up their women with child.
YLT : And Hazael saith, `Wherefore is my lord weeping?` and he saith, `Because I have known the evil that thou dost to the sons of Israel -- their fenced places thou dost send into fire, and their young men with sword thou dost slay, and their sucklings thou dost dash to pieces, and their pregnant women thou dost rip up.`
RV : And Hazael said, Why weepeth my lord? ERVEN : Hazael said, "Sir, why are you crying?" Elisha answered, "I am crying because I know the bad things you will do to the Israelites. You will burn their strong cities and kill their young men with swords. You will kill their babies and split open their pregnant women."

MOV : ഈ മഹാകാര്യം ചെയ്‍വാൻ നായായിരിക്കുന്ന അടിയൻ എന്തു മാത്രമുള്ളു എന്നു ഹസായേൽ പറഞ്ഞതിന്നു എലീശാ: നീ അരാമിൽ രാജാവാകും എന്നു യഹോവ എനിക്കു വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിത്തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
KJV : And Hazael said, But what, [is] thy servant a dog, that he should do this great thing? And Elisha answered, The LORD hath shewed me that thou [shalt be] king over Syria.
YLT : And Hazael saith, `But what, [is] thy servant the dog, that he doth this great thing?` And Elisha saith, `Jehovah hath shewed me thee -- king of Aram.`
RV : And Hazael said, But what is thy servant, which is but a dog, that he should do this great thing? And Elisha answered, The LORD hath shewed me that thou shalt be king over Syria.
RSV : And Hazael said, "What is your servant, who is but a dog, that he should do this great thing?" Elisha answered, "The LORD has shown me that you are to be king over Syria."

ERVEN : Hazael said, "I am not a powerful man! How can I do these great things?" Elisha answered, "The Lord showed me that you will be king over Aram."

MOV : അവൻ എലീശയെ വിട്ടു പുറപ്പെട്ടു തന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നപ്പോൾ: എലീശാ നിന്നോടു എന്തു പറഞ്ഞു എന്നു അവൻ ചോദിച്ചു. നിനക്കു നിശ്ചയമായി സൌഖ്യം വരും എന്നു അവൻ എന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞു എന്നു അവൻ ഉത്തരംപറഞ്ഞു.
KJV : So he departed from Elisha, and came to his master; who said to him, What said Elisha to thee? And he answered, He told me [that ]thou shouldest surely recover.
YLT : And he goeth from Elisha, and cometh in unto his lord, and he saith unto him, `What said Elisha to thee?` and he saith, `He said to me, Thou dost certainly recover.`

MOV : പിറ്റെന്നാൾ അവൻ ഒരു കമ്പിളി എടുത്തു വെള്ളത്തിൽ മുക്കി അവന്റെ മുഖത്തിട്ടു; അതിനാൽ അവൻ മരിച്ചുപോയി; ഹസായേൽ അവന്നുപകരം രാജാവായ്തീർന്നു.
KJV : And it came to pass on the morrow, that he took a thick cloth, and dipped [it] in water, and spread [it] on his face, so that he died: and Hazael reigned in his stead.
YLT : And it cometh to pass on the morrow, that he taketh the coarse cloth, and dippeth in water, and spreadeth on his face, and he dieth, and Hazael reigneth in his stead.
RV : And it came to pass on the morrow, that he took the coverlet, and dipped it in water, and spread it on his face, So that he died: and Hazael reigned in his stead.
RSV : But on the morrow he took the coverlet and dipped it in water and spread it over his face, till he died. And Hazael became king in his stead.

ESV : But the next day he took the bed cloth and dipped it in water and spread it over his face, till he died. And Hazael became king in his place.
ERVEN : But the next day Hazael took a thick cloth and dipped it in water. Then he held it on Ben-Hadad's face until he died. Then Hazael became the new king.
